Copperopolis Road Race
We had a big turnout last weekend at the Copperopolis Road Race - six Juniors, six Masters and I think three or four Elites - Ian has reported on their results on the ACR blog already.
On the Junior side, we had two DNF's - Bob had a mechanical (shifter failure) just before the start, and Alex completed one of the two laps for the 15/16's then dropped.
In the Junior 15-16 race, Bjorn raced hard with a fifth-place finish, looking strong the whole way. Isaiah started out strong, and finished in 15th place against a fast, tough pack.
In the 13-14 race, Spence and Skyler placed well - second for Spence, and fifth for Skyler.
For the Masters, five of the six of us stayed together. Bill Buckingham rode very strongly, finishing 17th out of the Masters 45+ A Group, with Jeff Taylor just behind at 20th. Then Tom Fox at 22nd, with Blair Peterson and Peter Sobrero coming across together at 32 and 33 respectively. I was dropped off the back on the first climb (very tough) and raced a 44 mile time trial, but finished.
Thanks to Bob, we captured a good number of pictures - check them out at:
